First Indian Freedom Movement, Muslim's Wahabi Movement

Muslim's Wahabi Movement, First Indian Freedom Movement

The Wahabi Movement was a part of the Indian freedom struggle as it offered a serious threat to British supremacy in India in the 19th century. The movement was led by Syed Ahmed Barelvi, who was greatly influenced by the teaching of Abdul Wahab of Arabia and the preaching of Delhi saint Shah Walliullah. The Wahabi Movement essentially condemned all changes and innovations to Islam. It was a revivalist movement which held that the return to the true spirit of Islam was the only way to get rid of the socio- political oppression.

Isra and Mi'raj (الإسراء والمعراج) , Lailatul Miraj ( Journey to Heaven)

The Isra and Mi'raj ( الإسراء والمعراج), are the two parts of a Night Journey to heaven that, the last Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu alaihi wa sallam took during a single night around the year 621. During the month of Rajab, the Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu alaihi wa sallam made a night -time trip to the city of Jerusalem (isra’), visited the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and from there was raised up into heaven (mi’raj). It is a physical and spiritual journey. A brief sketch of the story is in sura (chapter) 17 Al-Isra of the Qur'an, and other details come from the Hadith, supplemental writings about the life of Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu alaihi wa sallam. In the journey, Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu alaihi wa sallam travels on the steed Buraq to "the farthest mosque" where he leads other prophets in prayer. He then ascends to heaven where he speaks to Allah(One and Only God), who gives Muhammad instructions to take back to the faithful regarding the details of prayer. According to traditions, the Journey is associated with the Lailat al Miraj, as one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar.
