At age 31, Elizabeth Anne Holmes is the world's youngest self-made female billionaire. Her uncle's death from cancer moved her to develop a way to detect diseases earlier. She dropped out of Stanford University her sophomore year and founded Theranos in 2003 to make cheaper, easier-to-use blood tests. With a virtually painless prick of the finger and a few drops of blood, her labs can quickly run a multitude of tests at a fraction of the price of commercial labs.
Holmes raised $400 million from venture capitalists in 2014, valuing the company at $9 billion; her 50% stake is worth $4.5 billion. Some scientists have criticized Theranos for not publishing peer-reviewed studies, but the company got FDA clearance in July 2015 for a herpes test, and a waiver allowing non Theranos or Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-certified locations to use its test.

Life Style

Holmes doesn't own a TV and states she works every day from the time she wakes up until she goes to sleep. She says that
"What matters is how well we do in trying to make people's lives better. That's why I'm doing this. That's why I work the way that I work. And that's why I love what I'm doing so much."
Henry A. Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State and a Theranos board member, described Elizabeth Holmes as a "tech visionary...striking, somewhat ethereal, [and] iron-willed" who "combines fierce and single-minded dedication with great charm..." and is "dedicated to transforming health care around the world".

UPDATE AFTER 5 YEARS ON 2020, 31st July:
This girl cheated (most probably) with there product and government charged her for fraud. The product she was building was fake (almost impossible). Theranos failed.
Elizabeth and Ramesh "Sunny" Balwani cheated people.
Her jealous relative Richard sued her and most ethical employees left the company.
The case is U.S. v. Holmes, 18-cr-00258,United States District Court for the Northern District of California and it is set to begin on October 27, 2020. They could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
