Sheikh Mishary Bin Rashid Alafasy (Arabic: الشيخ مشاري بن راشد العفاسي‎; born in Kuwait in September 5, 1976) is a Kuwaiti dā‘ī, imam Qur'an reciter and nasheed singer.
Sheikh Mishary studied at the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia, specializing in the ten readings of the Quran. He is married, and has three children (two daughters and one son). He is also known as "Abu Rashid" (the father of Rashid).

About Mishari Rashid Alafasy

Mishary al-ʿAfāsī studied at the College of the Quran and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Madinah, and specialized in the ten readings and translations of the Quran. He has been certified by a number of scholars of Quran and recited before several renowned Qari. They include Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Zaiat, Ibrahim Ali Shahata Al-Samanodei and Abdurarea Radwan. He currently serves as the imam of the Grand Mosque of Kuwait.
On March 24, 2007 Mishary traveled to the United States of America and visited three mosques: Islamic Center of Irvine in California, Islamic Institute of Orange County in California, and the Islamic Center of Detroit in Michigan. The audio tapes of his recitations during his visit to America can be found on his website, and also on YouTube or MukminTV.
On September 2009, Mishary traveled to the Islamic Center of Irvine, but had to leave early due to family emergency.
There are two satellite channels for Mishary, The first is Alafasy TV and another more recent channel.
In 2012, he lead over 60,000 worshipers in Friday prayers at the Dubai World Trade Center, as part of the proceedings of the Dubai International Peace Convention.
